For this assignment, she had to draw 5 "major" events in her life. This went along with the 100th day of school.
So, we have (1) Evie holding her baby brother Jacob, (2) us buying our dog Ollie from the shelter, (3) taking a boat to get to Beaver Island for vacation, (4) starting school at Knapp Charter (which looks nothing like the picture by the way), and (5) moving to our new house (which does have prickly juniper bushes on either side of the door, but I don't know what the black spider-looking thing is...hmmmm...).
Here is a close-up of her last picture on that assignment. She was supposed to draw what she will look like when she is 100 years old. Doesn't she look like a granny? Hunched over, crooked cane in hand, hat with an "H" on it. And where is my dear daughter going? Why she's following the cross-shaped sign that leads to church. :D This makes my heart sooo happy!
This artwork I have named "Mr. Sun, Please
This picture is just so happy. I love it that my little girl thinks up these sorts of things to draw. This is her planting seeds (apparently fast-growing seeds) in a garden. Again she's got the sun really shining on that flower (understands photosynthesis), and there is a train in the background blowing smoke. (No, we don't live next to a train track.) I don't know what is in the boxes at the top.
This was work done at school of - you guessed it - the Statue of Liberty. She's got so much detail going on here! There are a couple of BIG trees with owls living inside of them. There are a couple of dogs nearby it looks like. There is a boat on the water. Lots of people. I think the box above her book is the elevator taking people up in midair, but there's one on the other side too, so I could be wrong. Look at those feet. :) We can't leave the toenails off!
Such imagination. :) I have a stack of "favorites" that I'm keeping. This went in the pile for February.
