Target Banana Boat/Hawaiian Tropic Deal

UPDATE:  I did this deal at Target, and I bought 4 big bottles with 4 lip balms. The key to doing it all in one transaction versus splitting them up is to have your cashier ring up 1 bottle with 1 lip balm. Then the cash register will prompt her for a gift card. If she scans 2 lip balms in a row, you won't get a card. If she scans 2 big bottles in a row, you'll get a card, but you've screwed up the rest of the transaction. :P  So kindly ask your cashier to ring them up a certain way, and everything should be a breeze!

Target is running a HOT deal for a $5 gift card when you buy 2 select Banana Boat or Hawaiian Tropic products. This works out wonderfully because as long as both items total over $5.00, it will trigger a $5 gift card! There are Banana Boat Lip Balms that are priced at $1.79, and most other things start at around $5. Here are a couple of ideas:

Buy 1 Hawaiian Tropic Cool Aloe Gel 12 oz ($4.99) and 1 Lip Balm ($1.79) = $6.78
- use $1/1 Hawaiian Tropic Sun Care Product, any 4 oz.+ from 5-22-11 RP or HERE
= $5.78 -+ Get a $5 Gift Card Back for Buying 2

Buy 1 Banana Boat 16 oz Aloe After Sun Lotion ($4.99) and 1 Lip Balm ($1.79) = $6.78
- use $1/1 Banana Boat Sun Care Product 4 oz+ (excl lip balm) from the 5-22-11 SS
= $5.78 + Get a $5 Gift Card Back for Buying 2

BUT, you cannot buy 2 lip balms and get the $5 gift card because the total price of the two items isn't over $5. Let's hope for some high-value printables to come out on these this week! By the way, you should be able to turn around and use that $5 gift card to buy 2 more items, use coupon(s), pay next to nothing, and get another $5 gift card. Lather, rinse, and repeat as many times as you like!

Assuming they'll run out of lip balm pretty quick, a deal might look like this:

Buy 2 Hawaiian Tropic items @ around $5
- use (2) $1/1 Hawaiian Tropic items
Pay around $8 + Get a $5 gift card

Once you invest that money the first time, you can do that same deal again like this:

Buy 2 Hawaiian Tropic items @ around $5
- use (2) $1/1 Hawaiian Tropic items
- use (1) $5 gift card from prior purchase
Pay around $3 + Get a $5 gift card
